Stone Chips
 |
Small washed and graded river pebbles
are attached to a sturdy mesh backing to create patterns and tiles
which can be simply fixed and grouted to solid walls, floors or other
level surfaces - both indoors or outdoors. These can simply be mixed
with the binding cement and used for flooring. Such tiny pebbles are
called chips. Generally available in the size of 1 to 1.5", stone
chips help to firm the walls in a garden.
For making tiles, pebbles with a natural round or oval profile
selected and fixed directly on the mesh backing, whilst irregular
sized pebbles are cut to specific thickness and tumbled to remove all
sharp edges. Chips can be directly mixed with a binder to create a
hard and smooth surface.
Marble and granite chips are popularly used. They are available in
earthy tones and help to enhance the flooring of the garden
landscaping. Chips can also be used to form beautiful pathways and
driveways. They are very popular due to low price, hardness and life
long low maintenance.
